Project Partners
The project is implemented by the 4th Health District of Macedonia-Thrace in cooperation with the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki – Department of Medicine, the Multi-profile Hospital for Active Treatment of Ardino, the Municipality of Harmanli and the National Emergency Aid Center.
Health Actions
6 Primary Healthcare Units and 3 Hospitals – all located in remote and disadvantaged cross-border territories – will be upgraded, while a modern Training Centre for Primary Healthcare Practitioners that will provide specialized training courses will be created.
Impact
The project aims at improving the Primary Healthcare Services all across the Greek-Bulgarian cross-border area, with a special focus on deprived and isolated areas of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, as well as of Kardzhali and Haskovo, covering a population of about 240,000 people.
Budget
The total budget of the project is 1,327,661.62€, being co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and national funds of Greece and Bulgaria.
Duration
The total duration of the project is 24 months. The project started on 12th October 2017 and is expected to finish on 11th October 2019.
Participating Countries
The project is being implemented in the framework of the Cooperation Programme INTERREG V-A “Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020”.
